What a Difference Benik Can Make!!!!

Today was a BIG day for Will.
His physical therapist, Patti, brought a Benik Trunk Support to try on Will so that we could figure out what size to order for him. This was the first time we had ever put one on him and it was just incredible the difference it made.
Will normally can not go for longer than a few minutes without doing his "happy hands" and yet, while wearing the vest, he not only stood straight and tall, but NOT ONCE did he move his hands about.
We placed the order today and should have his vest by next Friday!
I can not wait to see the difference this makes for my little guy!

Very cool! I've heard great things about those vests and I know I've seen some of our students use them. Can you imagine how good that must feel to him to stand so well and stay so calm!?!? wow...instant therapy! :-)

That is great and thrilling it will help beyond what you expected. Just goes to show, there was a reason behind the happy hands.

Okay, please explain for those who have not been following the Boufs for quite as long... I see how that awesome trunk support helps Will stand up, but how is that connected to his happy hands?

Deb..is this the type of thing that's used for sensory stimulation? Katie's therapist had recommended a "vest" to help her focus since she is always sensory seeking or wearing a weighted down backpack...is this something similar? How is it different from say..a bathing suit?
